Ayurvedic Approach to Fertility Enhancement
Ayurveda explains the idea of conception with a beautiful example - If a farmer desires a healthy crop then it is important that the season be appropriate, the soil be cured, the provision of water be optimum and the seed be of the highest quality. Similarly for an ideal conception, it is important that the season and occasion be suitable, the woman and her womb be free of all illness, the availability of nutrition for development of the foetus be optimum, and the seed (sperm and ovum) be healthy and potent.
Ayurveda from ancient times has presented the idea that there is an ideal process to create a human being and that should be followed carefully and completely. Ayurveda calls it 'Garbha Sanskar' which describes a range of preparations to be undertaken by the parents-to-be to ensure physical health, treatment for ideal conception and care during the 280 days of pregnancy.
Infertility primarily refers to the biological inability of a person to contribute to conception. Ayurveda focuses on the physical and psychological aspect of reproductive health, which results in a more holistic solution of the problem for the couple.
