This wholesome protein packed burger patty is a delicious way to fill you up in a healthy way.
1) Quinoa cooked – 1 cup
2) Beet root raw – 1 cup grated
3) Sweet Potato – 1 cup boiled, peeled and mashed
4) Mushroom – 1/2 cup chopped (optional)
5) Onion – 1/4th cup chopped
6) garlic – 1 tsp minced
7) Cilantro – 2 tbsp chopped
8) Cumin – 1 tsp ground
9) Pepper & salt as per taste
10) Bread crumbs
11) oil or ghee
Mushroom, onion and garlic are optional and can be used as per individual body type (Prakruti).
Take a pan, heat 1 tsp of ghee/ oil in it then add the chopped onion ans saute for 2 mins, then add the garlic and saute. Next add the grated beetroot and saute for a few mins then add the quinoa and mushrooms, saute for another 2-3 min then add cumin.
In another bowl take the mashed sweet potatoes add salt, pepper and cilantro mix well then add the slightly cooled mixture of the beet,quinoa and mushroom, also add 1 tsp of ghee/oil and mix it all together.
Slightly grease your palms, take desired amount of the mix and shape into a patty. Lightly pat it in breadcrumbs just to coat the patty. In another pan add 1/2 tsp ghee/oil and cook the patty on both sides till it turns slightly brown. Enjoy with your choice of bread or just eat it by itself with cilantro, mint chutney.
